About Jeremiah

  

Jeremiah True is a multi-woodwind performer (all saxophones, clarinets, flutes, and bassoon) with extensive experience in all genres of music, from orchestral to jazz, theatre pits to rock ‘n roll. He retired in 2021 after 21 years of service in the US Air Force Band Program. He serves as Brand Manager for P. Mauriat North America, a Taiwanese owned musical instrument manufacturer, distributed exclusively by St. Louis Music. 

The Story

My Journey with Music

I started band in the 6th grade at Center Grove Middle School in Greenwood, IN. Shortly thereafter my parents purchased my first “real” saxophone for me at Musicians’ Repair in Indianapolis. Music was never a career option for me; I was going to become a veterinarian……until I met John Richardson at Don Wilson Music in Lexington, KY! After he played “Cannonball and Coltrane” for me, I was hooked! After High School, I attended and graduated from Morehead State University, and after a fortuitous series of events, I was blessed to win an audition with the Air Force Band of Flight! My ensuing 21 year career allowed my wife Gena and I to raise our three beautiful daughters while I performed all over the world. After I retired in 2021, I was once again blessed to become the North American Brand Manager for P. Mauriat Musical Instruments.

My Musical Style

My musical style is whatever the gig and the music require: wailing altissimo rock n' roll saxophone, concert band bass clarinet, music theatre bassoon, saxophone quartet, in-tune flute, Dixieland clarinet, laid back Gerry Mulligan style bari sax, in-your-face Funkified bari sax, smooth jazz soprano sax, Big Band lead alto.....whatever the music needs.
